Vibrant Insecurities [UPDATED]

clock July 21, 2010 20:33 by author joshdobbs
I went to the T-Mobile store last Thursday and picked up a new Samsung Vibrant! Before I get to the insecurites ill start with a mini review of my new Samsung Vibrant... I was skeptical at first with all the but I gotta say I am impressed-This phone is light! not only that the custom interface(TouchWiz) is not half bad. My biggest complaint with sence on the EVO was that I could only upload one image at a time to picassa...what a drag. Vanilla android let's me upload multiple images at once and i'm happy to say so does the vibrant. The screen is very nice and although it is bigger than the nexus one (my favorite Android of all), BUT it's not too big. It feels good in my hand(almost as good as the N1) and is very easy to use one handed . I especially like that the on/off button is on the side instead of of the top which makes it very easy to turn on with one hand unlike other phones...EVO. One downer for me is that the speaker is just not loud enough, I guess I just got used to the EVO speaker which is very nice and loud for a phone. I also think the speaker on the Vibrant is too easy to cover and almost completely mute especially when playing Raging Thunder 2 and other landscape mode games. [More]

clock June 29, 2010 19:00 by author joshdobbs
Developing for Android is lot's of fun but trying to view the comments hasn't been. Ussualy most user's leave comments on your apps comment page rather than emailing the developer. It's not quite as helpful to see something like "it FC all the time" and not be able get enou... [More]

Make your Android App support all 3 screen sizes in 3 easy steps! If you just want your app to work with minimal effort and minimal time you can let the OS handle your layouts for you. It may not be the most optimized view on all 3 screen sizes but in my experience it's enough to get th... [More]
